Should I trade my RG3570Z for an RG3120?

So, some of you may already know I own an RG3120 TW (twilight blue). I had issues with the artificial harmonics ringing out, but was fixed with a professional setup (neck was out of alignment).

I bought that 3120 locally off someone on kijiji 10 months ago. That same guy has texted me today saying he bought an RG3120 DR (deep red) off kijiji in a city nearby while he was visiting. He is offering to trade it for my RG3570Z CA (candy apple).

My 3570z is mint other than a 1mm scratch (I bought it locally for $1000 CAD). He says the 3120 has some minor chips but neck and everything else is "very good condition". Also says it's all original, with case, 2001 model. I don't have pictures yet. I'll post them once he sends me them.

Considering I spent $1000 CAD on the 3570z, I'll probably be losing some money in the trade since the 3120, although an amazing axe, doesn't go for that much anymore.
-I guess it comes down to basswood vs. mahogany/flame maple
-Lo Pro Edge vs Edge Zero
-Super wizard prestige (58mm) vs. wizard (or super wizard?) (56mm)
-Resale value vs. guitar value?/quality? - resale would be more on the 3570z, but on the other hand, everyone [here] knows how great of an axe the 3120s are!
-2001 vs. 2009 guitar

I have to see the pictures first of course, but what do you guys think?

Note: My 3570z is my only basswood body RG with AANJ (not that it particularly means anything)

Here's my RG3570z:

Here's the pics he sent me:

The case isn't a prestige case, I'd ask to keep mine. The strap holders also don't look original, I believe they should be more cone shaped and powder cosmo colour, like my 3120TW. I'm going to ask for more pics showing the "minor chips", since these pictures don't show any of the damage.

Hahaha. Why exactly? Only because of the pups? The yellow is stock on the 3570z, who knows why Ibanez did that! I call her ketchup/mustard lol. At least they're good Dimarzio pups. Pups are easy to change anyway, if I keep the 3570z long enough I'd probably put blue, green, or red pups in.

That would be a no brainer trade for me too. Had 3120 for a long time, very nice tones from that model. Mine was also chipped up in that same area, kinda common on that model I suppose - but man...make that trade!!

Yeah I know since I have the 3120 TW! But I'm mostly wondering / trying to decide if it's worth getting another 3120 over having the versatile HSH configuration of the 3570z.

How are you getting along with your current 3120? If you play the 3570 more than the 3120TW, I wouldn't do the trade.

Of course the 3120's are amazing guitars and the '01-'02 are the "best of the best", but you already have one. The 3570 gives you some extra variety that your not going to get from a 3120.

I'd get the 3120 for sure, but, honestly, do yourself a favour, just go to Cosmomusic and try any Suhr Modern...

I love my 3120TW, I play that and my JEM7V the most at home. I naturally play the 3570z less b/c it's tuned down to drop B for one of my bands, so most of it's use it for rehearsals / gigs, not much home use tbh. I think the biggest factor for me will be the type of tone wood I prefer, basswood or mahogany/maple top, and HSH or HH configuration.

Why? The only ones I currently see online are minimum $3300

Yeah...about that....tried them over the summer at the big Cosmo shop...nice guitars but next to my J Custom they felt somewhat ordinary. The stainless frets are very nice and the guitar is well put together but I didn't like the neck profile on any of them. Several of them were a bit dead sounding but that was probably due to them having older strings. Nice guitars, no question though but not for me. A few of the Fender custom shop units they had there were really nice and played great. I would have taken one of those over them.

We all have our likes and dislikes.

Actually, I see one Pro series M3 at $2649 and imho it's worth every penny.

I agree that we all have our likes and dislikes, that's very true.
The Fender CS Masterbuilt ones are amazing, but they don't make anything similar to RG/Modern AFAIK.
As for the neck profile on Moderns - I just fell in love with .780 elliptical asymmetric necks and can't stand the wide thin flat Wizard of JCustoms and other newer Ibanez, but that's certainly very subjective.
