Show us your Ibanez breeding projects

Hi everybody!

I guess that, like myself, most of you would have preferred that one or more of your Ibanez guitars, would have any other kind of finish or components combination, regarding not only the wooden parts but also the hardware, even keeping within the standard factory parts (not to mention the too often pickup replacement).

The reason for this may be the personal taste in first place, or just functional if upgrading any component.
So one can be tempted to buy the relevant parts and/or refinish the guitar, to create or "breed" a rather unique Ibanez.

As an example, here I am posting my RG370MBKGP3 project, a "model" that was never made in this guise.
It gonna have a maple fingerboard Wizard III neck and V7/SB2/V8 pickups instead of the DX Wizard II neck and Infinity pickups.

Now you can start showing us your Ibanez breeding projects too.

Cheers, JPB

EDIT NOTE: The aim of this topic is to see our breeding of Ibanez guitars using the brands' parts, most of the times within the same series/level; not the costumized Ibanez projects using whatever components, for this there is a sticky thread already.

Re: Show us your Ibanez breeding projects

I posted this not too long ago-

Three Guitars in one!

This is a parts guitar.
The neck (obviously) from a UV777PBK.
All the hardware came from a Nickel Gray RG7620.
The body is from a RG7620 Vampire Kiss Red.
I got Gray Dimarzios to go with the hardware.
Bridge Tone Zone 7
Neck Air Norton 7

It plays really nice!

Yeah mang! both super clean/nice. If your gonna do and can do it right, then keep it quality for sure. I was afraid I was the only a**hole here who can totally justify breaking the bank to buy Ibanez knobs and screws from Rich or Gotoh to keep it quality. Those SB2's are killer single coils btw

Congrats!

Nice, unique and tasteful class.
Exactly the kind of alternative, yet very consistent design I was aiming when opening this thread.

Perhaps Hoshino will look to us as free design consultants, one of these days...

Cheers, JPB

No idea if this qualifies- my 'S510', if there ever was one... I re-used everything the S570B had just minus the pickups.

I love Sebastian's 7... very cool man

Here's a 540P project I did with the neck from a MIJ RG421...

Here's a RG550 body I swirled mashed up with an MIJ Wizard II...

refinished 350 body and a 450 neck. I'm gonna cut a new pickguard and make it 1 humbucker 1 volume when I get the time

Hi!

Yes. go for it, perhaps a non-perloid pickguard will suit better, who knows...

Cheers, JPB
