Re: show us your J-customs!

Best of luck to ya. The guys at Ishibashi are pretty good though. They already sent me a free replacement locking nut for my RG1880s when I got it and told them that it was practically unuseable.

Re: show us your J-customs!

That is a very nice 7-string!

Looking at the photo, do those extra switches control a piezo unit or something?

Re: show us your J-customs!

The mini-switch selects normal pickups or the piezo bridge. It also has two separate output jack-sockets so you can run each type of pickup to a separate amp or just use one which will run them both to the same amp.

It's the same electronics as the RG2027X.

Re: show us your J-customs!

I like the RG Metal a LOT.
It's a lovely looking guitar,has a Lo-Pro, ebony board and a very cool finish !

Everything you need and no silly handle cut-out either.

Re: show us your J-customs!

I'd love to have a piezo in a 7-string. I'm tempted!

Re: show us your J-customs!

It's pretty cool, but honestly, it's no match for my "real" acoustic, for an acoustic sound. If and when I start playing live again, I'd imagine it'll get a lot more use, but for now I only use it when practicing (as it's so much less compressed than the magnetic pickups, it really brings out unevennesses in your playing).

The 2027 is a pretty good alternative to the CST, if you want a peizo 7 - MUCH easier to find (although still hardly common), with a virtually identical neck.
