What if it's one of those Jackie Collins books with an embossed, cheap-looking cover? Shouldn't I avoid it?

I think Ibanez just gave him some bodies and then he did the work on them.

I think they gave him one body to work with (maybe that's the one on the namm guitar) which they used as a model for the sandblasting template.

True leather case. Curved inlays represent a spine as seen in Biomechanical Matrix. Flawless engineering. Sublime design by Giger. Rich metallic tone. Save up and find out.

Love old threads...
Nothing about this was designed for Ibanez - I still want one though.
The artwork is Gigers biomechanical matrix floorplate design
http://www.hrgiger.com/gegauf/scan7.jpg
from 1982 used to make rubber floor tiles for his Giger bars.
Theres one on sale on Swiss bay at the moment only £2500

With Dimarzios the S-series is the finished article in terms of balance, usability and ergonomics. Giger made it into a piece of exquisitie functional art, a sublime biomechanical interface between man and amp.

The metallic tone will not be to everyone's taste though.

Just as well Ibanez CEO is a Giger fan.

Shame that noise-mongers Celtic Frost were given the honour of breaking the prototype in.

Did you buy the one that was just on the bay? Also, regarding Celtic Frost; Not a huge shock considering their historical/personal relationship to Giger, and Giger's apparent love of their music. As for it being a shame; different strokes for different folks. I would call it appropriate.
