Skin Care

Hi Folks

This is probably the dumbest question ever. Maybe not..... Girlie question anyways.

I didn't even know in which forum to post, since there is no health and wellness and the OFF says NOTHING guitar related. So if its wrong here, my aplogies, please move it to wherever it fits.

No finaly the question...

How do you care about your fingertips? After a couple hours of playing mine look sometimes like broccoliheads. And i also file the callosity(not sure if thats proper english) off if its getting way to much and my wife complains so they are not that rough .

Re: Skin Care

I don't do anything other tham trim my fingernails... That aggravates me more than anything. As for my fingertips, I don't recommend filing them. In fact, you don't really have to do anything special.
I used to know someone that would keep his hand outside of the shower so his hand wouldn't get wet because he was worried that his fingertips would get soft. The only strange thing I suppose I do is wait at least an hour after I get out of the shower before I play just so the strings don't dig into and rip my fingertips up. Every once in a while the skin "sheds," but for the most part I don't have any problems.

Re: Skin Care

Don't touch your wife with your fretting hand man... what are you doing?

Kidding, I also don't bother. After a while, for me, my fingertips don't become brocolli-like, they are just rather "tough" or "hardish"...
