Re: So I sent my Ernie Ball Music Man Albert Lee to Marty Bell
And with that super fast turnaround time, I'd assume 2K or an automotive urethane clear? That's such an awesome notion to me being able to wetsand & polish so quickly! I'm from the world of Nitro, where I'm gonna need at least close to a month with your body hanging from the ceiling and curing!
I can say without question that the next time I find myself refinishing a guitar...I'm going to be in for an interesting & exciting finishing process, and I'm confident that the end result will leave me angry that it took me this long to leave nitro in the past, where it belongs; on the bodies of vintage Fenders and those who are interesting in owning a finish full of checking, wear, & all forms of "relic'ing". Honestly, I have no actual beef with nitro besides it being a PITA to have to fit in a long "curing time", and perhaps even longer depending on the brand!
I apologize for the rant, haha. Then again, it's that beautiful finish & huge flakes...and the fact that it took less than a week until it was back in your hands! Very impressive, man! Did you swap pickups or covers, or does the photo make them appear gold in the beginning, & nickel in the end?
