Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

I took my UCGR "screaming eagle apart yesterday for a VERY long overdue cleaning, adjusting, etc.......... I never paid attention to the stamps before but they are quite different from what I'm used to seeing.

I know about the H&S stamps and the WALRJ-T24. I've seen them many times. I think Rich even decoded what the "WALRJ-T24" means at some point.

My question is: What are all the extra numbers and letters for?? I think some are done by H&S but have no idea what they mean....and the "2 of 3"....is that Pamelinas notes on this guitar?? and are there only 3 of these???

Also...Why does the WALRJ show RT-24 and then again it's hand written on the "shelf"......

Any thoughts??

the only one that really interests me is the 2/3. you always said there was about 6 of these. it would be cool if there was even less

Re: Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

I'm guessing that she did three in this particular batch? The 2H obviously means two humbuckers. The RT-24 means reverse headstock, 24 frets.

The headstock is the one in his avatar, so it is a reverse headstock.

Re: Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

Thanks Rich and Jesse!!!
Yes it is reversed. I feel like an idiot for not putting the "R" and reverse together.....DOH!!!!

I emailed Pamelina a few years ago about these guitar, but never received a reply. I guess I'll never get any more info on it than what we already know....... 2 out of 3 total?? 2 out of 30?? Who knows......... I still wonder about the "832U", I'm sure it's an H&S mark but what does it mean?? Do you have any marks like this on your guitars Jesse?? Maybe we can figure some of this out on our own....

There was something on the Leather & Metal, but I forget what it is. I need to take the neck back off that, so I'll look. Haven't has the Strung Out apart yet, but I just popped the neck off of Surprise and it has the same H&S 560 1H stamp as yours, which makes sense considering they all started out routed for one humbucker. In pen is written 691U and SSH.

The 691U and 832U is something I feel like I've seen before, but I can't place my finger on it. Perhaps it is some sort of serial number related related to the USA Custom or an order number? Mine could be #691 built in 1990?

That seems to make sense!!!

I think JD was working in Bensalem in '90. I wonder if there was a way to contact him and ask about these (series?) numbers.

Ryc, what is the serial number on your guitar? My Surprise is F908314 and the Strung Out is F908391, which are 1989 serial numbers.

Strung Out has 347U written in pen in the neck pocket.

Re: Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

Does yours say Pamelina '90 on it? Both of mine do, although it makes sense that they guitars were 1989 production and then later painted.

Re: Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

yup...Pamelina '90.

The problem with serial#'s is that the neck could have been made anytime prior to or during paint.......I think that Pamelina only received the body's, not the whole guitar.

I did find a current website for Jim Donahue, but I haven't emailed him yet...... I'll try that after work tonight. Maybe he'll come in here with a little info for us...(fingers crossed)

Re: Some interesting neck/pocket stamps

Yeah, I suppose that the USA Customs of that era are an odd lot.

I'm really starting to thing the the 347U, 691U and 832U are order numbers.
