sorry, this might seem dumb....

yeah, sorry guys, but I just got an S520EX on a fantastic deal, the thing is, I HATE the inlay at the 12th fret, everything else is pretty much what I was after (fpr the price anyway..),
I was just wondering, would it be possible to change necks without a whole lot of hassle and expense?
where could I get another neck in the UK without paying through the teeth for it?
Thanks in advance again...

Trading could work or look on the bay. Having a custom made one would cost you your teeth so to speak. So keep your molars and try local ads or any auctions site. You could also check out the jemsite local ads, there's always stuff and you could put a Looking for ad.

Re: sorry, this might seem dumb....

Max Cottam at Cottam guitars can insall a new fingerbaord on your existing neck if you want a fancy inlay or something, and many luthiers could do something similar, such as a nice plain piece of ebony etc etc.

if you want a whole new neck, the 'bay is your best bet. you could buy the guitar with the nck you want, swap them over then resell the "other" swapped over guitar there straight afterwards.

Other than that look at local luthiers pricings to see what you call "expensive" iswhat they call "expenisve".

I would go for it! Cottam Guitars is in the UK, so, no major trouble for you!
Good luck.

EDIT:
On second thought, the inlays aren't that bad!
What colour is your axe?

They're not that good either!

I like the guitar, but the inlay is corny.

Re: sorry, this might seem dumb....

I hate inlay designs like that...
I think it should be left to custom jobs.

Give me dots, blocks or no inlay at all..

Not some silly flame thing. Kinda ruins a perfectly good guitar.

Unless you totally dig it

Fingerboards aren't crazy expensive...getting it fitted is what will set you back a bit more. Unless you want to do it yourself.

Dee and Andy, sometimes it seems as if you 2 guys bicker back and forth to boost UK post counts. It worked for Glen and Rich! (NJ)

I hope you are not serious mate. The only time I bicker is when I am attacked, otherwise I'm the nicest guy in the world. I certainly don't post crap to boost post counts and nor does Andy.
