Red face Special question about SA Premium fret size and playability

Hi,

I've got a special question:

Could anybody of you Ibanez SA960QM users tell me the size (height and width) of the "medium" frets of this guitar.

I've searched for this, but haven't found any information.

I'm very interested in this guitar, but can't try it in a shop, so I have to purchase it online and see how it works for me. I know, that I'm a jumbo fret guy, maybe the Ibanez medium size is too low for my taste. I wouldn't order it although there is a good return policy, if I know, they are too small.

Would be really nice, if someone could tell me or even measure it at his own medium-fret SA guitar.

Re: Special question about SA Premium fret size and playability

So many visitors and no one knows...

Ok, I've found out for myself, the medium frets should be 2,4mm x 1,2mm.
Jumbos are 2,9mm x 1,3mm.

Hope that helps, if anyone was curious about that, too.

Re: Special question about SA Premium fret size and playability

I've got a 2002 SA160 that has the medium frets (since 2004 the SA160 has had Jumbo frets). Not sure about the exact size of the medium's but they have noticeably less height than the jumbo ones on my S and RG. They're still very nice to play though, feel quite like jumbos, and are a world apart from say Fender vintage frets.

Just to add, I've heard the jumbo frets Ibanez uses are the same size as Dunlop 6100 (not sure if they actually use Dunlop fretwire any more though). According to the chart below the 6100's are .110in wide and .055in tall which is 2.8mm and 1.4mm
