Squier Stagemasters

I currently own 2 guitars. A black Stagemaster and a Purple Stagemaster.

My first guitar was a Squier Stagemaster. I'm holding/playing it as I type this thread. I got it for my 14th birthday from the Pontiac Exchange (a pawn shop) in Pontiac, Illinois. My mom took me there to get a guitar because I had been wanting one for a long time, and I never really played one before. I wanted the black B.C. Rich Warlock they had so bad, but the guy at the shop suggested I get the Squier because he learned on a Squier, so I got the black Squier Stagemaster with 2 single coils and a humbucker in the bridge. I also got a P.O.S First Act Amp.

These pictures are from the day I got the guitar, I added the rockstar sticker and the apple sticker to the guitar, it is no longer on there.

The amp sucked soooo bad. Plugging the guitar into the front "input" jack did nothing. You had to plug it into a jack in the back of the amp, and all the settings, except volume, did nothing to change the sound the amp made. It had no distortion and the overdrive button did nothing. I ended up getting a Peavey Rage 158, which kicks ass.

At one point I bought an LTD MH 100 QM, it was green. I spent 320$ on it and a case. The only bad things about the LTD were that the bridge pickup wouldn't always work for some reason and the licensed floyd rose is a p.o.s. I ended up selling the stagemaster to my friend for money to get the LTD set up. Then I traded the LTD to the same friend to get my Stagemaster back a few months later. I've messed with the wiring so much on both guitars, the pots were fried on both guitars, but my friend recently got the LTD set up and had the electronics replaced, and there is a GuitarFetish fat-pat pickup in the bridge. On the Stagemaster I took the electronics out of an old junk guitar I got for 33$ including shipping (a red "Gremlin" brand guitar), and I wired the humbucker to the pots and what not so the black stagemaster only has the humbucker wired up. It also has vintage colored knobs now, from the gremlin.

For xmas this year I had my mom take me to the same pawn shop I got my first stagemaster at. I ended up getting a purple stagemaster with 2 humbuckers and a lic floyd rose. The floyd is pretty decent and so are the pickups, but im going to replace the bridge with something hotter and better, probably a GFS pickup. I'm going to have it professionally installed probably because I am a beast with a soldering iron .

Re: Squier Stagemasters

I had a HH floyd Stagemaster in wine red. I changed the pickups to Bareknuckles and actually got on with it pretty well for a long time. The only thing which was a real turn off was how wide the neck was, everything else I could fix.

Did you have the deluxe neck through model or a standard bolt on? Both mine are bolt-on models, I feel that the necks on mine are pretty slim, in fact, its my favorite neck in the world on the black one. The purple one is 24 frets so I guess its a little wider but not much, I prefer the black one's neck.

Re: Squier Stagemasters

Neck through. I meant the neck was wide across the fretboard, which just made it awkward to play.
