Stone Sour's Josh Rand Custom SA

Hey Ibanez Freaks,
Check out these pics

Man, check out that flame! Thick body. Fixed Edge. Satriani neck radius. Dimarzio Pickups with High Pass Filter and Coil Tap ala the Satch model. 6150 Frets. Josh's Daughters name is on the 21st fret. His other Daughters name is on his other custom...

Just wanted to share these pics with you guys to drool over. There is a pic of Josh in the new Ibanez Catalogue playing this guitar but it doesn't give the top justice. What do you think? I would buy one in a friggin' heartbeat, it's that sweet... Drool...

Nice!!
The top on that looks pretty thick actually.

(btw, anyone else notice that Ibanez seems to be pushing thier EDGE-FX bridges this year??)

Re: Stone Sour's Josh Rand Custom SA

It's an endorcee guitar, made to HIS spec. Ibanez isn't pushing anything. Lest everybody forget that the FX bridges was the most requested mod by the custom shop [before they molded the FX for the JS2000]

Very nice!
Not exactly my cup of tea, aesthetics-wise, but I still wouldnt say no to owning it if I was offered it. But at least its something a little different.

Re: Stone Sour's Josh Rand Custom SA

It's funny though because I always thought that he used a custom S series guitar. But I guess the two series are pretty close in appearance so with the advent of the fixed Edge bridge, you'd be hard pressed to tell the two apart.

Jim Root from Stone Sour/Slipknot is a very good friend so I'm out here in LA for a couple of days while they begin recording thier new disc...

On an interesting note, that Hiwatt cabnet has the Cheap Trick logo painted on the back. Cool...

Just out of curiosity have you met Mick Thomson? What is he like? Awesome guitar by the way

Nice, only thing that's not to my taste is the removed truss rod cover. Looks ugly unless it's a J-custom which don't have them in the first place...
