straplocks on a rg20th

Would straplocks on a rg 20th anny hurt the originality of it? What are some good straplocks?

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

Originality? An RG 20th is not a Chromeboy or a Jem10th.

Buy some schaller straplocks and call it a day.

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

I put a new bridge, Tremol-No, new pickups, a momentary switch, a toggle switch, and a new fretboard on my RG20th. Don't worry about modding it; although, if you really don't want to, I find DiMarzio straps hold quite well without straplocks.

I think i might change out the pickups and knobs also. I dont want to change the single tho, are there green covers that will fit the single coil? I hope it will look like this..

The dimarzio ClipLocks are my favorite!
I hate schaller straplocks. Yet dunlp and dimarzio straplocks are good

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

i like the dimarzios but i hear that the clips wear on the guitar, and that pretty much defeats the purpose of a locking system. I might try the dunlop locks.

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

Get the PlanetWaves LockStrap and you won't even have to take off the original strap buttons

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

i put dimarzio cliplocks on and i bought some tube socks and cut the tube part off and put that over the clip on the buttom where the cliplocks would touch the body, but now its perfectly fine, no scratchy scratchy

do you have any picks? plus if you did all those mods i mean why not just get a guitar closer to those specs, seems like you wouldve saved a whole lot of money, the only thing 20th on your guitar is the neck(minus the frettboard) and the body

...or get these:

they cost about 2 dollars, fit any straps and buttons out there and won't ruin the look of you guitar.

Re: straplocks on a rg20th

they all work well its just a choice of how much money you want to spend and how you want it too look. Not using a straplock/cliplocks system is Dumb!

I second this notion. Or, just don't do stupid things with your guitar strapped on. I have never had a guitar fall off of me unless I was doing something stupid.
