What gauge of strings do you use on your 7-string? Factory setup (009 - 053)? Thicker? Even THICKER? ;)

I'm curious as to what people use. Please list the gauge and the guitar it's used on. Any Ibanez 7-string will do. Thanks!

I use Ernie Ball custom gauges on my UV777GR (0.56, 0.46, .036, 0.24, 0.18W, 0.12, 0.10) that's tuned to Bb (Bb, Eb, Ab, Db, Gb, Bb, Eb).

I also use a custom gauge on my RG7620(60, 52, 42, 30, 17, 13, 10) and it's tuned from bass to treble G, D, G, C, F, A, D.

Simply... I use D´Addarios 0.10 - 0.46 *and 0.56 for the B. And it´s tuned to standard.

I use "Whatever I Can Afford's" 10-46 and a 54 or 56 on low B. Added another spring to the thing and it helped a lot with the tuning crap, it's on standard tuning.

On my Ibanez RG7 & BCRich Warlock-7, I use D'Addario EXL110-7 string sets (010-056), but replace the 010 with a 009 & tune to standards tuning.

On my Les Paul 7, I'm experimenting with Ernie Ball 011-058 & using a Drop A tuning.

I tune to A (down a whole step) and use the following gauges of Ernie Ball strings-
.60 A
.52 D
.42 G
.30 C
.17 F
.13 A
.10 D
*That's a light top/heavy bottom set (orange) and a 60 guage bass string. I used to use a .62 for the A, but that caused wierd tuning problems when you fretted a note. It was just too meaty. I suspect a .61 guage would be the best, but that means a special order of .61 guage guitar strings because who ever heard of a .61 guage bass string?? Not me, I'll just stick with the .60 guage........

String Gauges.

Thanks so much for all the replies. I'm thinking that when I get my guitar professionally setup, I'm going to get it setup and intonated for 010-056 strings and tune it (most of the time) to standard (EBGDAEB). The Ernie Ball "Regular" 7-string Slinkys looked good for this gauge/tuning. Anyone have experience with those?

Damn ya'll, those are some massive strings! *I've always, and will continue string up my 7s with .09-.42 + .50 (sometimes .52 when i couldnt find .50, but now i buy in bulk) *.10s are way to stiff for me. *I've even played with .07 and .08. *I stick with .09. *

On my RG7620BK I play Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys (9,11,16,26,36,46) and a custom 54 on the low B
I tune to standard tuning and pitch
