which strings would be best for my Apex 2 - Jemsite

which strings would be best for my Apex 2

hey ho ive ordered my apex 2 and cannot wait to recieve it, about to purchase some string sets for the future but cannot decide which to get.
I was gona go for dean markley the A string was 60. i think im pretty rookie so any advice is good stuff. im into dirty heavy stuff so is thicker guage better>?

I use an Ernie Ball .010/.056 set on my ESP... standard tuning.

GHS boomers lite which are great since they come with a 9's at the top and the bottom string is a 58.
Here are the gauges
009, .011, .016, .24, .32, .42, .58

How much tension do you like? For A I would go with a 10-46 set plus a single .64 for the low string. Anything lighter is going to be a bit slinky.

thanx for all replies so far guys as for tension im not sure, this is my first 7 string so that base string is a mystery for me. its an apex 2 so will be tuned A i guess i want it pretty tight though dont wana get dodgy sounds

definitely try 10-46+64/65. If that feels too loose to you, step up to 12-52+68. You'll almost certainly have to purchase a 6 string set and a single low string, because the vast majority of 7 string sets are inadequate for tuning to B, let alone A.
