Suhr's answer to swirls?

Not sure if I like these drip guitars or not...my initial response was ..."hmmm that looks different", which I kinda liked initially because it's cool to see someone trying something different but now after a few more look-sees and seeing some close-ups I'm not sure I like the look of these guitars...definitely nowhere close to being as nice as a quality swirl...maybe that's why I don't really like the look - because it just looks messy whereas a nice swirl can look super classy... anyhoo, thought I'd see what others think...

I like the dip.. it different ( I actually posted a thread on them a few weeks back)

yeah, Its not a swirl but if it was, it would be an Ibby ripoff, It reminds me of my 1st swirl attempt!

Re: Suhr's answer to swirls?

I like it a lot! Especially the neon drip. I think comparing these to swirls is apples and oranges in that it's a different paint process. Who knows, maybe somebody will come along and do it better so it can compete with swirls.

Edit: I'm really really liking the root beer drip. The web has given me inspiration for another finish I'd like to try involving a broken glass mosaic pattern.

I really dig the neon dipped one. I'd love to have one of those!

I think they are coool!! I think the neon tips the hat to the Jem Circa 1991 without being a copy.

Re: Suhr's answer to swirls?

I like them, but none of them inspired instant guitar lust. I like the more subtle ones like the sparkles.

Peace

Wow. I really like the two red & black sparkle dips. Pretty neat.

Re: Suhr's answer to swirls?

The drip finish is awesome, I got to play a custom shop suhr a few months back and was extremely blown away, i'll be purchasing one in the future for sure. I was playing through a high-gain boutique amp, and with the volume rolled down could get those sparkly slightly overdriven blues tones, and when turned up I was easily able to pull off some death metal stuff, those aldrich pickups have the most amazing clarity and colouring.

Been a major fanboy ever since haha!
