Sun shining straight to guitar??? - Does it have any kind of

Hey guys. This might be pretty dumb question but I wanna make it sure.
To the point.
My guitars in my room are placed so that when itīs a sunny day the sun shines actually straight them. So I am asking if can īcause any kind of harm to the finish/wood etc. ???

The sun can definitely be a problem.

The combination of heat and UV rays can cause damage to the wood and the finish. It's usually a good idea to keep your guitars out of direct sunlight whenever possible.

if you have colored finishes, they can fade pretty quickly. *Some of the prettiest pink jems ended up orange because they sat in a store window a couple months too long. *If you have a white finish, it may yellow. *I would advise keeping your guitars in their cases whenever they're not in use.

Sun shining straight to guitar???

Thanks guys!!
Luckuly my JPM and 2027 are still in great condition. Even though I got them over a half year ago. Iīve got to place them somewhere else or at least the 2027 īcause it doesnīt have the case yet.
Thanks again. Good thing that I asked.

you don't have to keep them in a blackened air tight case, just moving them out of direct sunlight is a great idea. *I know it's attractive to just place them directly in front of the window and have the sun play across them, but unfortunately, temperatures and wood are rarely friends..

I'm not going to but say I taped the edges around a royal blue rg7 and set it in a window for about six months would it have a sunburst effect or would the sun make it through the tape? Just wondering.

I know, but if it worked without damaging the wood every guitar I own would be sitting taped up in a window.

maybe all the 520 owners should put their guitars near a window to let the top fade out a little? it would be nice if it worked
