Swirled Strat

Hi,

Just did a swirl on a Fender Strat body for someone:

http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fay...bum?.dir=/208b

It had already been modded to include humbucker routs, holes for a wilkinson trem and angled neck joint, so I just had to remove the old finish, which was a crappy home-done green, and swirl it. I quite like the swirl, it's a bit different for me, with the line of colours along the front (which should go nicely around the scratchplate when it's put together).

cheers,

Rich

Re: Swirled Strat

Hmm. Reminds me of a rainbow, though it reminds me more of the Walls 'Paddle-Pop' Ice Cream here in Malaysia.

Re: Swirled Strat

Well I don't like the colours, but the swirl pattern itself is nice.

Re: Swirled Strat

Thanks for your comments all - I do like this swirl, especially the way the line of colour on the front follows the forearm contour.
As regards colour, it's another that's similar the the UVMC and PMC, etc - I actually think I prefer the more grown-up, almost classier-looking swirls in complimentary colours rather than clashing multi-colours, but that's just my opinion - everyone seems to have very distinct ideas on what makes a nice swirl, and that I think is half the fun of it!!

(my favourite swirl of mine so far is this one: http://www.jemsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41064)

cheers everyone,
Rich
