SZ320EX

After thinking about it some more, I think I'm going to pick up another fixed bridge. I'm looking for something new to approximate a classic Les Paul - Randy Rhoads/Dave Meniketti sound for under $500.

I'm curious about the Sabres, particularly the SZ320EX. I understand the Artists are Ibanez answer to the LP, but where does the Sabre series fit? How are the neck and bridge? Are the pickups active or passive? How good are the pots when it comes to rolling down the volume? Finally, are these MIK, MII, or MIJ like with the Prestige?

Re: SZ320EX

SZs are overall sleeker than Artists (from what I remember)
bridge is good
passive pickups
pots are cheap
made in korea.

overall a pretty good buy. I'd recommend an SZ.

Re: SZ320EX

Sounds sweet so far. Tomorrow I'll hit my local GC and see if I can test one out. Any indication of their sound? I listened to a clip on youtube, and it sounded good for what it was, but will the stock pickups will give me that Randy Rhoads sound I'm looking for connected to a Line6 Spider III or a Marshall, or will I want to change the pickups right away?
