Yup, there was, don't know if there is anymore, and I can't remember what they were called, but they do exist!

2 versions, the good MIJ S5407 and the Korean S7420.

There was a Saber-7 in the early nineties, the S540-7(?). Cool guitar, hard to find though. Equipped with an Edge-7 and Hum/sing/sing pickups. These weren't around very long.

Recently Ibanez issued an S7-470 (?) which has hum/sing/hum and a LoTrs7 trem. I'm not sure if these are still in production, but you can find them on eBay every now and again.

Actually, it was the S7420 as mentioned earlier, H-H pickup config. It was available everywhere in Black Pearl finish, and only from Musician's Fiend and Guitar Center in trans blue over flame maple veneer.

There was also the STW doubleneck, with a 6 string and 7 string neck.

Here's an S7420 I just ran across on Ebay:

(ebay link removed by jemsite)

It has a But-It-Now option at $569, ends on the 21st

Sorry about the Ebay link. I'm fairly new to this forum and I forgot about that rule. My apologies!

I personally like the looks of the 7420- it'd make a hell of a project guitar, IMO. Lot of routing and replacements needed, but that's sorta the point of a project, no?

Anyway, it might just be better to get a custom so you could get a thicker flame on top. who knows...

I'm not sure why I'm even cruising in this thread, since I don't play 7-strings, but ... I bumped across a 1991 S540-7 at a shop (looks like it's in MN). They want $750 for it. So, if I understand this correctly, if anyone is interested you send me a private email and I can tell you where it is, right? Or am I not supposed to be mentioning an item for sale at all in this forum? (I have no connection to the seller).

Kuma, thanks for the correction. I'm not a huge fan of the Saber series, but I knew one existed! We appreciate having the correct info.

Here's a picture of the S7420 for those who haven't yet seen one... one sweet looking axe IMO... (lose the lo-trs, pups... )

As for S5407, didn't Munky (KORN) play it?
