WHAT, it is pretty obvious that Joe has the original Edge in his guitars, it's non-low profile so it's easy to spot.

Re: Thinking of getting the RG2570. How good is it?

I'm having trouble deciding between the RG2570 and RG2550? I know feature-wise, they're both pretty much the same except for the looks. RG2550 is very JEM-like which looks very slick and stylish, only problem is the body is shiny and any minor scratches can be easily seen. RG2570 has got a very nice textured finish and looks sturdier than the RG2550. But I don't really dig the shark-tooth inlays, which IMO reminds me of a Jackson.

Re: Thinking of getting the RG2570. How good is it?

The difference, I think, between the two is that the 2570 has back routed controls whilst the 2550 has front routed controls, hence the pickguard. In my book, cosmetics come in fifth, after tone, playability, quality, and price. If you're looking for a guitar that can really be versatile, both are really good choices. I'm just saying that I'd go over sound and playability over cosmetics.

Well I will have to say this if you like the RG2550 for it's a little bit jem look alike... then you might as well save up some more money and buy the jem. If not then..... stick to the plan get the RG2570 . Besides, you've heard maany good comments on this Rg2570 right...

that vital silver finish is unique, versus the more generic looks of the 2550. so it has that going for it.

on the other hand, it's easier to personalise the appearance of a 2550 with a new pickguard.

people on this forum seem to love the old 550's but don't get as excited about 570's, so by extension of that, maybe the 2550 is cooler. i dunno.

Could those who own a RG2750 please tell me what songs they've played on this guitar and sounded really good. I really would like to know what this guitar is capable of. Maybe provide some sound clips and also a short description of the setup (amp & effects) required to achieve the recorded song/riff.

Wizard necks. How comfortable are they from your experiences?
Firstly i'm not an exceptional guitarist for that you should not consider my words as suggestions, only my opinions . You can be sure about you can play nearly every type of music with 2550 and 2570, played both owned 2550 but imo i play Satch's songs better with 2550, cuz i love it's tones and probably the most comfortable neck i have played since.. But i have a problem with it, dimarzio/ibz fits neck i think but i really need a replacement for bridge! they're too sharp for rythm play( i play rhytms on bridge and solos on neck(of course personal choice)). As a final word, i really think months to buy an 3020(still dreamin' ) or 2550 and i think i made the correct choice and suggesting u

Re: Thinking of getting the RG2570. How good is it?

I just got mine about a week ago, I was torn between choosing a Jackson
Sl3 and the RG2570EXL, in the end i chose the Ibanez, and Im glad I did.
Its really a fantastic guitar, the action is perfect, the bridge flawless and
the neck is probably the best thing on the guitar, very playable and fast
all the way up to the 24th fret which i use quite a bit since Im mostly into
Heavy and Thrash metal.
I also have really big hands, and I thought that my hands would cramp on
the neck like they used to on my old Jackson. I dont know why, maybe because the back of the neck is so rounded, but after hours of playing
my hand still felt great. No cramps at all.
My only possible gripe with the guitar is that the Dimarzio Single buzzes
quite a bit, but once you start playing the tone is great and the buzzing
isnt noticable. (Note my electrical instalations could have something to
do with this)
Id recommend this guitar to anyone with hard rock/metal preferences, even
though the clean sound is very sweet. As regards to sound I would compare
it to a Gibson LP. With maybe slightly brighter sounds which I like.
