Thinking of having my Destroyer painted...

So, I took this baby out of it's case today...

...and you know, I have more than a few red guitars (and I'm not even Sammy Hagar) so I was thinking of sending this one off somewhere to get something cool and/or graphicky (ok, not a real word) put on it. Would having a Destroyer swirled seem a little too off my rocker or should I go for something painted on it since Destroyers, with all that space on them, seem prime for cool graphics. Maybe just go hardcore sparkly on it. I'm gonna start looking at painters but suggestions for what to do to this one would be appreciated.

Re: Thinking of having my Destroyer painted...

Solution, you have too many red guitars, GIVE IT TO ME!!!!
Anyways if you're gonna paint it.. paint a howling wolf or something of the sort like that.

Also, I think red destroyers are awesome. Even Kitty Van Halen thinks so.

Get in touch with Mike Learn. Anything you can imagine, graphics-wise, he can do and you won't wait 6 months for it.

Re: Thinking of having my Destroyer painted...

I quite like the idea of getting a Japanese type landscape painted on one of my guitars. Will probably do it actually in the near future. Some examples below:

Maybe it's just me but I think that kind of thing would look great on an Ibanez guitar.

I just did that, too. I was looking for someone on the east coast and you seem to be my best bet. The mirror chrome option is almost tantalizing.

Re: Thinking of having my Destroyer painted...

Had a crazy idea and wanted to throw it out there for advice on doability. If I DO swirl this guitar red/white/black (the infamous diablo swirl someone on another forum recommended), could I do anything to the inlays, maybe on either side of the diagonal line of pearl/abalone, put some kind of red transparent film or plastic on the inlays so it's red/pearl/red?

Well, I have 2 Destroyers and instead of having a custom guitar made (and I really don't need another one), I decided I want a custom paint job on one of my current ones. After going over my collection, I decided on doing it to this one. Besides, the swirled Destroyer idea is starting to entice me since I've never seen one. Why should JEM's and cheap ass RG's on the 'bay have all the swirly fun?

Jack it is your guitar, so do what you will.

Having said that, oh please don't.

I love that guitar just the way it is.

Re: Thinking of having my Destroyer painted...

Send it my way and I can do a Holoflash finish for you...or better yet...Perle is down the street from me. Send it to him to swirl, I'll add some Holoflash to it, clear it, and you will DEFINATELY have aunique guitar!!!!!

Your Red/Pearl/Red idea on the fretboard make me think of a Candy Cane...unless you are Santa, that mightnot look so cool.
