Thinking of selling (6 month old EJ strat)

As the title says. Its a sunburst maple neck Eric Johnson strat. I've tried to make myself fall in love with this guitar for a bit, and while I like it, I find myself picking up my RG1XXV or my other 95 strat more. That alone makes me think I should sell it and hopefully be able to pick up a prestige RG instead. I know according to all the strat guys out there, this is supposed to be "one of the best". I guess it just doesn't suite my style of playing.

Its in pretty good shape. I think it has about 3 pinhead sized knicks on it, but outside of that it maybe has 10-15 hours play time total. The case has a little wear on the outside from being moved, but thats about it.

When it comes to second hand guitars, I really have no idea what I should be asking for it. I looked on ebay and it seems I could get $1200-$1400 for it. Does that sound about right? If I could, I'd be able to do an even swap for a guitar I think it would suite me more.

Re: Thinking of selling (6 month old EJ strat)

i am not really a fan of the EJ strat. The nitro on the neck is really sticky. I have seen people take brillo pads, steel wool, 600 or even 400 grit to the back of it to take some of the tackiness off the finish.

The pickups are ok, not a fan of the neck shape. I'd rather do a clapton strat with the v-neck profile and thinner neck finish.

You should check reverb.com for going sale prices, or guitarcenter.com . That will get you in the ball park on what to ask.

Once you know what you want for it you can post in the classified here on jemsite.com, or do a paid site like reverb.com.
