Time to sell my RG370B?

Hi,

I'm now the proud owner of a JEM7V which I love! Well, duh

In comparison, and perhaps obviously, my ol' RG370B feels somewhat.. cheap. So time to sell her, I think.

I have an S470 which I will definitely keep, as that is a gorgeous guitar to play and continues to holds its own! Great feel.

Any reason I should keep the RG370 around??

Might be a long cold winter and then it could come in handy with some extra wood

Couch guitar......Sometimes I like to keep a cheaper guitar around so I can jump on the couch, watch tv and not worry about my dogs, kids, a drink or a bite to eat claiming some part of it.

a guitar to go if you do a gig where you think the crowd would be unfriendly.

Have more. . . . Aggressive fun with it. Have no fear in kicking it's ass. There was a relic'd RG350 here done by IbanezCollector that comes to mind. I'll find the link.

Nevermind. He sold the guitar and deleted the pictures of it. Oh well. It pretty much looked like REAL relic'ing. As if the guitar got beat up and used at 100,000 shows. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me.

Re: Time to sell my RG370B?

Food for thought. Thanks for the input guys.

I guess I think the RG370 looks quite...boring too (It's the moondust silver sort of colour) compared to the JEM and the lovely purple S470. Could be worse though - I've an old Shadow guitar from the 80s which is just... white!

The Shadow is even more of a connundrum. It has no value (as nobody has heard of them, I sold a very battered and worthless Squier strat from 1996 for more money than anyone was going to pay), but has a proper Floyd rose, high quality tuners, flamed maple neck etc.... Bizarre...

Re: Time to sell my RG370B?

I would ether A) keep it and mess around with it. Maybe a refinish or updrade it or B) post it on CL for trade and see what kind of offers you get. I've always done pretty well when I do that. Lower end RG's don't seem to be drumming up much $$ on the used market. I picked up a like new RG350MDX with like new Dimarzio pickups in it a couple of weeks ago for $150. I didn't need it but figured if I decided to get rid of it, I could part it out and make a profit.

Its Xmas time.....Find a family that may have financial issues, a kid who cant afford a guitar....donate.

The 370 is not worth that much and a donation to someome who has nothing but the fever and want to play would probably make you feel great the whole year round

The above is the best thing to do. I'm glad somebody thought of that. Py36 got a good heart.

Refinish it!! New color, natural look, hell even go for a fabric finish.

Re: Time to sell my RG370B?

If on the off chance you can't find someone in need, you could always use it as an "alternate tuning" guitar. I have one that I keep a whole step low. Another with drop D. Floating bridges are a pain to change anyway.

I actually purchased a 2nd guitar with a fixed-bridge for that very reason. Even though the Floyd bridge on my EVH Wolfgang (which I keep tuned to D# for VH stuff) doesn't "float", they're still a PIA to re-tune every time you want to play/learn something in 440 tuning.

Another excellent suggestion.
