Tip: Making your tremolo bar stiffer.

Hey guys I just wanted to share this tip I found on Jemsite and it really works great.

I have a RG 2550 EGK and my tremolo bar was stiff when I first got it (when I would put it horizontally it would stay horizontal). But now it just falls down after I'm done using it. I know I'm responsible for this, I use my tremolo bar so much I would make Steve Vai go "that guy uses his tremolo bar to much". So I was trying to figure out how to make it stiffer again. All the solutions I found I either had to purchase some parts or take out my bridge and tight something in there. Today I found the best trick for this. Finger Nail Polish. like mentioned on Jemsite, I took out my trem bar, removed the two white washers and put a thin coat of finger nail polish where the washers are. Waited for it to dry, attached the two washers and now my trem bar it stiffer than ever, I love it ! If you love your trem bar stiff like I do, give this a try.

Re: Tip: Making your tremolo bar stiffer.

It wears out in a matter of days. This is a very temporary solution, unfortunately.

I used to wrap a piece of a plastic bag around tip...also temporary but no waiting.

Cut out a little circular piece of a D'Addraio string bag. Works great!! I do it all the time rather than replacing the bushings every other week

Yep, that's what I do.

I'll experiment with the Super Glue though.
