Yeah, the RG Paint had some issues from the the get-go, but I wouldn't call it a total loss either.

Sorry man. But you're missing the point a little. I don't have a problem with that at all. But. The guy wants $1700 for the guitar. It's nothing more that a Prestige really, which I have, in mint cond. already. I'm not looking for a 'player'. I think that guitar would be great for anyone looking for an RG Paint "player". I just keep coming back to the point that the 'loss' is the loss of a RARE collector. Only 29 of those, in the world, and I want one, bad. I own and play guitars with chips, no problem.

You saw the remarks that people think it's ugly. Anyone who would want a Paint would have to see the beauty in it, which means, they would likly not want to see it marred. It's a strange thing I suppose.

Let's look at it this way. A JS1000 can be found for $1000 in prime cond. A Chromie for close to $6000 I think. Basically the same guitar. Would you pay $1000 for a mint JS1000 or say $4500 for a beat JS10th. I'm just pulling numbers out of my butt. But if you were going to buy a 10th, I'd think you would want it "perfect", well, as perfect as they can be I suppose. Because you want it for it's super coolness and collector value. Or pay alot less for a JS1000 mint.
I guess that doesn't help at all.
How about this.

How much MORE have you paid for a guitar because of the 'coolness' of it when you could have got a guitar that plays and sounds the same for less, either a 'player' or a different model?

My 2620 was 'new'. When I was looking for a Prestige, I was skipping over any guitar that was not perfect. I paid a bit more. But it's worth it to me.

Am I alone on this? Does anyone else feel this way?

I got to tell you though. Rich has an RGGear that almost does it for my like the Paint. I think Kevan has one of these on his wall too.

I don't like either the PAINT or the GEAR. I think ART or METAL is the way to go!

I'm clumsy too. I had my RG for about 2 hours before I gouged the lower horn on my computer desk.
Plus, beat up guitars look like they have character.
