trem studs binding on me

I've picked up a couple of used Ibbys lately and when I tried to lower the edge trem on them by turning the trem studs in clockwise, they bind up/stop on me before I'm at a height I'd like. Not sure what I can do about this. They can't be bottoming out because I have my other Ibbys set lower. Any ideas?

Re: trem studs binding on me

Hi, check if your posts have set screws. These are 1,5mm allen head (hex) screws that are inside the posts. First of all loosen the posts (4mm hex) then insert the long end of a 1,5mm hex and try first tightening, just to see if you grabbed the inside screw with the hex key, if yo're able to tighten you will feel that they end up bottoming if so just turn counterclockwise and lower the posts afterwards to the height you want. After the the posts are set to their correct height tighten the set crews and after they reach the bottom tighten the posts again so that the screws lock together.

Good luck,
