trem wood block

I'd like to block the trem (original edge) in one of my RGs with wood on both sides and I'm not really sure how to go about doing it. First of all i dont want to use a tremol-no or anything like that, because I than loose some of the added mass of the wood, and I dont need the versatility. Ideally I would use 2 pieces of wood, one infront and one behind the trem to stop up and down movement. I'd rather not use sheets of wood... I imagine that might be a bit less stable tuning wise.

Has anyone else here done this? How did you go about get the right size wood blocks? I dont exactly have the equipment that would be able to cut a wood block to the accuracy I would need for a level bridge. any help would be appreciated!
