Truss Rod Covers - Why don't J-Customs have them?

On the few close ups of J-customs I've seen, I've noticed that they tend not to have truss rod covers. *Is there a reason for this? *It seems odd to have a gaping hole-rather spoils the aesthetics.

Warm Regards

Anil

PS my J-custom has been delayed by up to two weeks-will this waiting never end?

The only reason I can think of is that most J custom's have great looking headstock some inlayed some maple some painted cool and I bet they just don't want to cover any of that up.
My J Custom has *a veneered head and no truss rod cover.

Can anybody provide some pics or a link that shows the J-custome with the vine, or all of the J-customs for that matter

That i couldnt answer but ill tell you i take off all the truss rod covers from my guitars cause its just faster to make adjustments to the truus rod.Rather than having to get a screwdriver and all that hassle.

Its just better that way but thats my opinion.

Anil - I know exactly what you're going through with the delay. *I ordered a JS 1000 in April, it was supposed to arrive in early July, and it just got here today! *September 12!!!!!! *Believe me though, you'll appreciate it more if it's late IMO.

Thanks for the sympathy, JS Clone! *I can't understand why they can't stick to a delivery date. *I would've paid for a horse and rider to go over to Japan, pick up my guitar and ride like the wind to bring her home to me. *No doubt it's in a container box piled high on a ship somewhere in the Indian Ocean, being banged around by the sea swells etc. It'll need a major set up when it arrives in Blighty!
