Re: USA Custom Master Thread

Awesome post.
Two of mine are in there as well, the maple neck streetwise, and the last necromancer.
Anyway thank you for the work you've done.

Re: USA Custom Master Thread

Glad you made this post as I sure do love the USA Customs!! I realize its a work in progress, but I did notice you missed Angels Depart in the first section with no pics, etc. You do mention it in one of the later sections but reference back to where it should be.

Thanks for putting it together, it will definitely be a go to thread for many many people.

LOL that's what happens when you work on something for four straight hours. I even loaded the images to my server but completely forgot to write about the guitar! Fixed now.

Re: USA Custom Master Thread

Here's another shot of my Cosmic Swirl. I think it is so popular because of the lack of green on any Ibanez. Also very colorful. I miss it but not a fan of maple necks and was so clean I didn't want to play. That's what they're for, right.

Were there any other cases for these besides the MC150?

Re: USA Custom Master Thread

Thanks for posting those! I've updated the main pic of the Cosmic Swirl.

The case is actually a UM150C. The U obviously means USA Custom and the only difference is the plaque on the front. That would be the correct case from 1990-92, but it would just be an RG550C in 1989.

From 1990-94, Ibanez offered the M100C, M150C and UM150C, which are all effectively the same case. This is what I believe the differences are.

M100C - Professional Deluxe plaque, black interior, black twist latches. Case for RG400/500.

M150C - Prestige Deluxe plaque, grey interior, silver twist latches. Case for RG700, Roadstar Pro, JS, RBM, etc.

UM150C - U.S.A. Custom plaque, grey interior, silver twist latches. Case for USA Customs.

Starting in 1995, there was only the M100C. These have a black interior and buckle-style latches.

All fixed now, Andreas!

I've added a bunch of UCEW pics to the thread as well.

Re: USA Custom Master Thread

Awesome thread, man. I remember seeing these on the rack at the local music shop, Zapf's Music in Pennsauken, NJ, as a teenager. I never really knew what their deal was back in the day, but they are definitely a high point in Ibanez history.

This graphic seems to have been pretty popular. Interesting that both guitars above have Ultra necks with their corresponding inlays.

Even more cool is that "Angels Depart" was the only pencil drawn UCGR.

Each one is very different from the next.
