This USA Strat's so weird... but cheap!

I was looking into getting a new strat and more or less selling my RG517, because I'm more into music that requires more clarity, and I dig the sound of single coils much more - into more shuffle, blues, and funk now. The RG does just fine, but I'm attracted to the glass-ness of singlecoils and strats... for some odd reason.

Then this turned me on:

Sorry guys, I CANNOT post links... I am a noob when it comes to using this forum, haha!

I'll need you to type
Fender Stratocaster (U.S.A.) 1984/1987

in the Toronto part of kijiji.ca, if possible - THAT is what I'm looking at.

Fairly cheap strat, but I'm wondering a bit...

- How are the 84 USA Strats compared to today's USA Standard? Any better or worse?
- What's with this bridge?? I don't know what kind of bridge this is, but this looks a bit sketchy! Wow...

That's a major trem, it looks like a Washburn Wonderbar. It might be Fenders take on it.

I'm pretty sure between 84 and 87, Strats were all Japanese made. That looks like a parts guitar, body is japanese and the neck is USA. I don't think USA Strats ever had that trem.

"In 1985, Fender's US production of the Vintage reissues resumed into a new factory at Corona, located about 20 miles away from Fullerton. Some early reissues from 1986 were crafted with left over parts from the Fullerton factory." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_...5.E2.80.931998

Google told me, I don't know much about Fender models and years.

Looks like a wonderbar nothing, that *IS* a washburn wonderbar. This guitar has been customised, if not built from pieces.

Its also missing two fine tuners on the bridge.

Those trems weren't bad, but I'd still avoid that guitar myself.

Opinion on that seems divided. There are lovers and haters, very little middle ground. I'm in the dislike camp.
