UV77MC tribute 7 string prestige

This is my tribute to the old universe 77MC, I have tried my best to replicate a 20 year faded type of finish, just got to clear coat it next.

I have chosen yellow vol/ tone covers supplied by my friend and fellow jemsite member 'Ibanez freak' down under in AUS. The pick ups will be green/ pink. more pics soon.

Well you certainly nailed that faded affect, much less vibrant than a new swirl! Awesome!

Re: UV77MC tribute 7 string prestige

I have only done a couple of white based swirls, I specialise mainly in 2 colour swirls, Im sure some of you have seen my gmc and omc swirls, I did swirl a sunn mustang with a white base in a DNA syle that came out really well.
I just could not bring myself to butcher a cavity for that single coil pick up so rather than call it a 'replica' I used the word 'tribute'. :-)

The guitar has been clear coated today. colours seem to stand out more. pictures dont really do it justice.

Looks great! I personally would go for the full garish colors, but your work looks top notch.

Thanks guys. I got the idea for the guitar from vai.com 'the machines, I was looking at the universes at the bottom of the first page and thought........hhhhmm......Im surprised you guys over the other side of the pond did not hear the coggs and gears turning around in my head LMAO. Im hoping its going to look even better when its been flatted and polished, built back up. cant wait to post pictures.

yeah his UVs are pretty faded, that's what thousands of hours under stage lights will do to a finish. You've captured that well.

I guess I always took those to be washed out by a camera flash, as the rest of the pictures are all studio shots. Regardless, I'm eager to see what the finished machine looks like!

Great Swirl. I like that faded effect and the front has some really nice details
