You looking for a Rolls Royce? - the '58 Les Paul, which is the lesser of the two years of original 'burst production, commonly fetch over $100,000.00 US. They only made like under 2000 guitars for both years combined.
Try the Gruhn Guitar Blue Book (amazon.com). Some of these classic guitars are commanding higher returns than some big-board stocks.

A '58 Cherry Sunburst Les Paul? Yeah, 100 grand to 200 grand. Save 94 grand and splurge on a 1995 Jimmy Page, and you'll get a guitar likely much, much nicer. Only the 95's though, no other year. If you don't want a 'burst, just a '58 like a gold top with P-90s, get the Jimmy anyway. It'll likely appreciate better.

Totally get a car man. I suppose if your getting a good deal on this insanely expensive guitar go for that but I just see a car as being more useful. But I'm seventeen and a car is what I want so maybe you should get the guitar.

anyways, get a car first, if you got the cash for a 58 les paul may i suggest the mercedes E-class or the new range rovers?

If you're gonna put down 100-200k for a '58 LP, why don't have one custom-built? Unless you're gonna have it gold-plated (in which case you better have REALLY strong shoulders), it can't cost you more than that.

ok, ok.. i know there's something special about a '58 LP, but you know what i mean.

I know vintage guitars are nice to have, and are good collectors and all, but I would much rather have a crisp new guitar. I own a '74 Fender Strat, and I do admit it sounds NICE, but I rarly ever touch it. It just doesn't feel like my style. I much prefer my JEM7V over it, as far as the overall guitar goes. Anyway, get a car man. You can save bucks and get a new or newwer guitar that will play just as good. Unless you just want that specific vintage guitar that is
