Want to know more - I would like some info on top end ibanez

My first guitar was a RG550. *I love the Ibanez guitars I have played. *Have been a Jem fan for a while. *However, until I found this site I never knew about the other high end Ibanez guitars. *Can you guys tell me a little about these other top instruments. *I don't even know what is a J-custom is but I here you guys mentioning them a lot. *

I'm going to be in the market for a new guitar, I have been saving and want an excellent player (was saving for a vwh so price range is not the issue). *Let me know what other high-end Ibanez are out there and what you think is good and bad about them so I'm not missing out on something good.

Hi JT I much like your self started off on rg's then moved up to jem's and other high end mass production models ( pgm's js's and a 90th) then I sold them off and went to all Usa custom's and now moving to J custom's. Go to the jemsite and under the guitar section read about the history of the usa custom shop and the j custom shop that will help allot. But Usa custom ( like the USrg's and the Ucew and so on) where made in the usa in limited number ( but not too limited) as a way to let non endorsee to get the fine quality of the usa custom shop. the J customs are very limited some only have 2 or 4 in there series and they are even higher quality then the USA custom's and are very unique all have the top of the line pickups hardware and options. If I was you I would try to find a nice used USA Usrg30( they are great hard wood mahog/maple and are great players) or try and save up for a used J custom some used ones have gone for as low as $1200 to $1400 depended on the model find some pics of the different j custom 's and try to find what model you want then start the hunt Jem's are nice but they are mass produced ( there are millions out there) and are mostly made of basswood *not a great tone wood.

My 2 *

Please note, most of the USAC's were actually parts cut in Japan and shipped over for finishing. The rest were actually subbed out to 2 luthiers. Almost nothing was actually made from 'scratch' in the US Custom Shop.
