Warmoth compond radius neck?

Compound radius fretboards aren't really anything new. Several companies use them but sometimes call them different things. Charvel called them "Conical Taper" or something like that.

Warmoth compond radius neck?

Thanks, Darren, although I didn't necessarily think it was a new invention. *I was really hoping to get some feedback on how this type of radius plays and feels, especially from those familiar with Ibanez 17". *Anybody?

Warmoth compond radius neck?

I've got a guitar with compound radius and I dig it. I think the radius on it goes from 10" to 16". It plays great, I find it comfortable. It doesn't feel too round or too flat anywhere.

Warmoth compond radius neck?

Since there's already a thread on this, I might as well *post on it

I was considering getting one of those nice Warmoth necks for my own guitar... The thing is I don't know if it'll fit or not... :help:

Anyone of you guys know if these necks'll fit a Squier Strat-style guitar? Its a guitar I'm going to be relegating to "second main guitar" status, and I'm upgrading it this summer, and the neck is one of the first things I want to work on.

Thanks,
-Pryde-

Concidering the fact that Warmoth builds replacement necks for strats as there main neck line I would say you have an excellent chance of it fitting....

Warmoth compond radius neck?

I think if you're used to 15-17" radius guitars you will still love the compound radius necks. I don't know of anyone who hasn't loved them, except for people used to vintage 7 1/2" teles. The upper register will feel like Ibanez' radius and the lower will be just a little easier to chord. If you do a lot of bending in the upper register it will enable you to have lower action than a 17"radius *neck since each fret is slightly flatter than the previous one. Incidentally, if you have an edge you will be fine. If your bridge is set for a guitar with a 12" radius you should flatten it. The logical conclusion of a 10-16" fretboard is about 17-20" at the bridge, depending on your preferences. So if you have a tune-o-matic set for 12" you won't enjoy the benefits as much.
