Washburn D10 Acoustic - Opinions?

My friend is currently looking for a good cheap acoustic, and he has an eye on a Washburn D10 for a good price. Did anyone try the lower priced Washburns? It played and sounded good, so I guess my main concern is about general quality etc...(I read in another thread about QC problems on Washburns). How would it compare to the Yamaha APX-3, G series Takamine or Ovation CC's?

I know that some of you might suggest Seagull's etc...(I would, sweet guitars and they would be my first choice if I was to buy an acoustic, made in Quebec as well), but these are currently out of the price range...

Thanks in advance...

i have the guitar.

For the cash, best damn acoustic you can buy besides making one.

The action is a little off though.

I spent about 3 days adjusting the truss and switched string gauge. and then it was fine. its a great sounding guitar plugged in and regular. its no taylor 400 series though. i'd reccomend that. ovangkol back/sides kick!

definately check out both. I love my acoustic!

While I don't have much experience with Washburn acoustics, the experience I do have isn't good. One of the guitarists at my Youth group has one (an acoustic/electric, not sure which model) and there's nothing you can do to make it sound good when plugged in
