Question Washburn Nick Catanese Idol guitar

Hello just wondering if anyone in here has one of these guitar?
I been looking for a gibson les paul custom shop for sometime and came across these washburn's not too long ago. Apart from the slightly wider bodies they look like they play similar to a LP and have easier fret access after the 16th.
How would one of these compare to a Zakk custom LP?

Re: Washburn Nick Catanese Idol guitar

I think there might be some videos of the Washburn Idol series on the Washburn site - I remember seeing a video of some employee demonstrating how much better the Idol series guitars are than Les Pauls . . . But it's not specifically about the Nick Catanese model (which just has EMGs I think). Anyway, take a look around for the video - it's pretty good.

Re: Washburn Nick Catanese Idol guitar

I played the USA & import version. The USA is clearly a higher quality guitar. However, it is heavier than any LP I have ever played.....now that's heavy! It did sound good, but then again EMGs are processed sound and will sound good on anything. Washburn USA makes great guitars.

lol. The irony, considering Nick used Les Paul with passive pickups, at least before he teamed up with Zakk, he did. Don't really know what he uses, now.
