WASTED YEARS

I have played guitar for about 20 years now, ( i'm 37) and almost all of mine have been Fender with a Charvel, and a PRS. I bought my first Ibanez about a year ago , an old rusty rough RG 320 qm from a pawn shop for 75 bucks. It has new Dimarzios , new trem, knobs, wire , pots and a pro set up. Not the nicest or most expensive guitar in the world but it changed the way I play so much . I have several Rg's now and realized that if I had one of these 20 years ago I wouldnt have to have a day job. no matter how much i spent on my strats or teles they never once gave me chillbumps and made me ask myself, " what the hell did you just play and can you do that again !?" So in short , Ibanez you own the rest of my playing days ,all because of an old beat up Rg 320 I brought home like a stray cat. Thanks for the new energey and thanks for the best guitars on earth!

Re: WASTED YEARS

Welcome to our world! My story is similar. I'm 41, and been playing for 28 years. I bought my first Ibanez, an RG-550 DY, when I was stationed in Japan in 1991. It was my favorite! Then, I acquired an RG-570PN, an Iceman, an RG-770DX, another RG-550 (The custom Space Invaders RG), and another RG-570PN. After getting the 770, I sold off my Preproduction San Dimas Charvel, a 48th St. Custom ESP Mirage Deluxe, an ESP M-2, and a Kramer Pacer Deluxe.

Re: WASTED YEARS

My story is similar too. I quit playing 15 years ago with the onset of college years (33 now)... Used to play with a Fender knockoff that would not even stay in tune between the songs. Had a friend with a Jackson soloist who later acquired a UVMC swirl. Always adored his axes, but couldn't afford one. Sold my knockoff and and haven't had a guitar until recently. I now have a 7VSBL and can't wait to be able to play as good as I did back then!

Re: WASTED YEARS

Poon,

That is a nice story. Mine is the same or is it opposite? I started playing in 1987 and my first "real" guitar was an RG, then a JEMFP. I have purchased many brands of guitar looking to find something dfferent. I've found different, but never better or even as good. Sadly, I stopped playing from 1997 until about a year ago. I can't tell you why I stopped, but I did. I'm back now, can't play anything nearly like I did. Trying to get back on my game, but there is always something that I "have to do" other than practice my guitar. I will find the time, I will get back to form, and I will play an Ibanez.

Amazing story!!! Glad Ibanez has been a game-changer for ya!

I don't actually own a rg or a jem. quite frankly the ONLY electric and my first guitar (hey, I'm poor lol) is an artcore AFS75t in blue and it is truely something else. but i've played a ton of jems and RGs, like- I've played a quantity of kevan geier's J-customs (I was at jemfest). - And no matter what other brand I play, Fender, jackson and even PRS (but a close second lol) dont come close to Ibanez!!!!
