We have a winner in the end!!!

Well after all the late nights and much though here is the winner!!!

In the end i couldn't justify spending £2k+ on the Regius when i've never played one, and the ibanez just didn't have the features i was after so this late entry won. I've always used ESP, they're built like tanks and sound awesome, dunno why i didn't think of it sooner.

Now i just have to wait for the delivery company to bring me my new amp which got delayed being sent cos they found a smashed valve in it which had to be replaced, i hope it arrives tomorrow otherwise i'll be looking at monday which is so ***.

Always liked that guitar!!! Horizon NT-7 right?

Too bad, i thought my suggestion was gold (rg8527 with passive sized blackouts) but hey, we cant always be right. Shes one beautiful beast dude! Hows she play? Ive never even TOUCHED a real ESP neck before

They do have good and bad but real ESP's dont usually crap out on the quality. And even if its terrible, the feel of the neck interests me.

Re: We have a winner in the end!!!

The neck is pretty effing nice to be honest. I've always used the Ibanez RG 7 neck as a benchmark since thats what i played for years and the ESP feels very different. Its a glossed/satiny neck for starters which doesnt bother me so much since one of my other main guitars is the same, however i tend to prefere bare necks so a neck shave may be in order but we'll see how it fairs up. On initial playing it seems nice though.

Its a narrower neck than usual for a 7 though, i believe its a 45mm instead of 46.5mm. Its very comfortable and nice to play around, the neck through keeps the heel nice and smooth so top access is excellent.

Ebony board is nice and sily too, the setup was really good straight from the case. The action is low and there's no signs of any fret slap yet so i thinks there's room to drop some more still!

I ordered a Line 6 Spider Valve 212, nothing extravagant since my gigging days are gone and i'll only be playing in the house or maybe with a friend and i didnt wanted to deal with pedal boards and tons of gear again so the Line 6 fit the bill. Plus i wasn't yet ready to give up the valves ;o)
