Well I Finally Think I Am Happy (EXTREMELY PIC HEAVY Beware)

Well it was time to do another relic, so the guinea pig was this parts caster. Now before I get any crap for a Fender Decal, I used it because of the headstock repair which you can find on Strat-Talk.com

List of mods done..

Deglossed Body
Rebuffed Body to a Sheen not a Shine
Razor Checking
Aging The White Body
Yellowing The Body
Removing The Bevel Of The Pickguard And Shrinking Size To Simulate Bakelite Wear
Deglossing and Aging the Pickguard
New Dragonfire Single Coil Pickups
Aging Pickup Covers And Knobs To Simulate Bakelite Wear
Custom Wiring One Volume, Master Tone, Blend
Tons Of More Small Stuff hahah to much to list.

Switching When The 2nd Tone Control Is Rolled Forward
Position 1 Bridge
Position 2 Bridge and Middle
Position 3 Middle
Position 4 Middle and Neck
Position 5 Neck

Switching When The 2nd Tone Control Is Rolled Back
Position 1 Bridge and Middle Ran In Series For Humbucking Tone and Output
Position 2 Middle
Position 3 Middle
Position 4 Middle
Position 5 Neck and Middle Ran In Series For Humbucking Tone And Output

Anyways On With The Show..

Ok first here she is in all of her glory..

Here is the body, first thing your eyes will notice is the extensive razor checking I did to simulate, well, nitrocellulose checking, this is a Poly Body.

Next you will notice the plastics, and that the pickguard doesn't resemble any stock color, well your right its custom stained. It isn't a consistent color either this is one of my pet peeves about 90% of relics out there. Most are Mint Green and then ambered on the edges.

Some of the Butt wear sexy huh? hahahaha

Re: Well I Finally Think I Am Happy (EXTREMELY PIC HEAVY Beware)

More of her butt..

The plastics of the Pickup covers and the knobs have been slightly rounded over to simulate Bakelite plastic.

You will notice this pickguard is a little bit smaller then a normal pickguard see the clean spots next to the pickguard, to simulate shrinkage I carefully sanded back the bevel off the pickguard and rounded the edges again to simulate Bakelite plastic.

The inconsistencies of the aged pickguard. A must have for a good relic in my eyes.

Re: Well I Finally Think I Am Happy (EXTREMELY PIC HEAVY Beware)

On to the back HOLY CRAP that took a while..

The old Fenders used to have the waterslide just on top of the clear versus under it, so I simulated that and the wear it would receive as well. I KNOW I KNOW ITS NOT A FENDER.. Blah Blah I had the headstock decal when I did the neck repair and used it.

Here is a shot of when I soldered the crap out of my finger LOL..

Here is some behind the scenes detail pictures. So you can see under the guard and input, under the knobs etc.. All done, just a little attention to detail..

Great job with the attention to detail really making it. Must admit I have a real soft spot for relic'd Strats and this is a fine example.
