Question what can I pay for this Guitar?

Hi

I'm a newbie and planning to learn playing guitar. I found an used Electric guitar to buy. I'm not sure about how much is reasonable to pay for this one. Can someone please give me some guidance on this deal.

Its a Kay Guitar. This is what the owner says "Theres not much I can tell you about the guitar. There is no model number. I believe its from the late 70's. There are enamel cracks on the paintwork (like a marbel effect) Not noticed unless looked at closley and this is all I know about it."

Price offered 35.00

Can some one please tell me if I shud go ahead? if so any negotiation ideas.

thanks a lot in advance
-Sam

Re: what can I pay for this Guitar?

i wouldnt sweat it over 35 pounds mate, if it plays at all its worth that. Plus its kind of funky looking and for a guitar that old is in good conidtion! you could almost say its vintage. i know some kay guitars fetch high prices on the vintage market, not sure if this is one, and judging by the unusual body shape its doubtful. best bet is to go play and see if you like it!
