What do I do?
So, I was at one of the music shops in my area and saw this fine looking instrument at the end of the amp aisle. Unbeknownst to me until after I picked it up, did I find out that it was an S520EX. And a fine S it was. However, the two things that killed me about this were :
The stupid 12th fret inlay
The inlay is like a 3 claw mark, and it looks very out of place; and the finish is a gloss black with clear cloat. Something I've grown to detest in days of late. Now, it plays like a machine, very sharp, and the ZR system isn't a problem; for me anyways.
Oops, forgot to mention, it comes with a Dimebucker in the bridge. OK, so what I was considering doing was just having a local luthier possibly just take out the inlay and refill it with a putty or something, and then while the neck is being worked on, have someone else re-finish it to say a Black Transparent Burst (or whatever its called).
Would this end up being a huge waste, and should I just get say the S320 and just put some Dimarzios and call it a day?
