What others think about Ibanez

Ibanez is well represented here.

This seems to be a simple guide to the beginning guitarist on what to pick and why. When I first started guitar, and hard rock/metal was an interest, there were basically three main things, the Ibanez (or Yamaha or Aria) copies of the big two models, and of course those two being Les Pauls and Stratocasters. The SG, was everybody's favorite backup guitar for hard rock, but it is Gibson's only entry on this contemporary list. I think the Les Paul faded should have been added, as well as the American Special Stratocaster, too as good metal guitars under $1,000 dollars. That being said, nothing beats Ibanez superstrats in the hard rock department.

Re: What do you think of this rating? (Ibanez content)

Anyway, other than how others think about Ibanez vs. the rest of the market, I really like these upper mid-level hollowbodies (between Artcores and signature level instruments) which are not available in the US.

I know these two hollowbody guitars are probably in a bad spot on the lineup being that most will spring for Scofields or Bensons, but I like them even though I don't think many others will. I understand why they were left out of the US lineup though because going against Gibson and other high end instruments, most are going to get the Ibanez signatures to be the very best and fight tit for tat with a dot 335 or Steve Howe ES-175. Other than that, I really like the (also) underrepresented Heritage hollowbodies. I miss the day when Ibanez had a middle point in their hollowbody lines between what would be the budget friendly Artcores and the high end Benson/Scofield gems few could afford.

my top 10 list would all be ibanez RG's. considering i own well over 10 of them, i'd still have trouble with that list.
