What do you tune your 7 string to?

Title says it all! Im just curious, many 7 strings have floyd roses and I was wondering whether you considered B standard or drop A more useful!

Re: What do you tune your 7 string to?

Actually I tune mine to C standard tuning and use a high string for the 7th string!! So my gauges are 9-50!! The 9 gauge being the 7th string!!

Re: What do you tune your 7 string to?

I tune to drop A with a set of .10s and a .56 on the 7th i think.

I find it easier to play just because i imagine the 7th string as a 5th string. Plus i can drop down and bar any power chords to give a fatty sound

Tune to ADGCFAD using .70 (low A) -> .10 (hign D) basically a set of 10-52 strings with a 70 bass string!

Re: What do you tune your 7 string to?

I have 4 seven-strings so one of my RG 7620s is in drop A (AEADGBE) and the other standard BEADGBE, my S 7420 is in baritone (BEADF#BE) and my PWH is standard too. All guitars 9-54 except my 7620 with the drop A which has 10s.

B standard, .010-.056. I've been thinking about experimenting with all 4th's tuning (B E A D G C F)

Re: What do you tune your 7 string to?

F-C-G-c-f-a-d, using .010-.068 Elixir Nanoweb strings.

This is essentially standard tuning, but down 1 whole step, on the top 5 strings. The 2 lowest strings are then dropped... the E string to drop C (which is the drop D equivalent of tuning down a whole step), and the B string to drop F, the relative drop for a dropped C E string (sort of like drop A, but lower, for a 'double drop' effect.) This opens up 2 finger baritone major/minor triads on the lowest strings, and easy 7-string barre chord shapes.

It's wierd, I know, but I've played it for years. I still tend to play 6's in standard, however, but I don't play 6-strings very much on average anyway.

Re: What do you tune your 7 string to?

F#,B,E,A,D,G,b

Daddario baritone 14-68 plus 12 for the high b

I hate those string but in poland it's very difficult to buy some good strings with so big gauges
