What if Ibanez came to you to spec out your own signature guitar...

What would your specs be?
Neck, pickups, wood, color, headstock, Trem(or hard tail), etc?

This should be fun topic

(I honestly don't know what I would choose)

Re: What if Ibanez came to you to spec out your own signature guitar...

Mine would be exactly the original Prestige 3120 with just a skad thicker neck. I'd like it available in white or red with black or mirror pickguard with matching headstock. Perhaps a ebony fretboard.

I'll take two of these. One BK and one DY with ebony board.

A couple of things would be cool. I like pretty much what is on the Timmons guitar but maybe more the traditional single coils instead of ss space rails. A Scofield type AS200 guitar would be nice, too. As for pickups the Timmons type has DiMarzios and there's nothing wrong with that and AT at bridge, and Class of 55s at middle and neck positions. A Scofield type with simple Seymour Duncan JB and 59 pair would be excellent.

Re: What if Ibanez came to you to spec out your own signature guitar...

7 string
Body: Arch top (jazz box) style RG body shape. (Conklin made something that looks similar but I can't find the picture anymore.) Spruce top, Indian Rosewood back and sides. The body would be hollow enough to have the acoustic properties of an arch top but still be able to handle high gain tones. (ala PRS Hollowbody)
Bridge: The bridge would consist of individual saddles (ala Standberg) but locking, locking tuners.
Neck: 24 fret Wizard neck (maybe a tad bit thicker) with EBMM style truss rod, jumbo stainless steel frets, ebony fretboard
Pickups: Not sure to be honest
Case: Every guitar would come with an Accord Flightcase!

Re: What if Ibanez came to you to spec out your own signature guitar...

I'd have a tweaked up version of my #1, which is this:

Alder body, ebony board, SD pups. Modified switching so the blade lever goes bridge, neck/bridge, neck, neck/middle, middle.

Tweaks would be rear routed, non-locking whammy, slightly modified forearm cut, no binding, no dots on the front of the neck, non-angled single coils.

Then, maybe another variant with a thicker old Roadstar style neck.

One with six strings would be awesome.

I stole that from Andy Timmons. He said that when Ibanez approached him to build a guitar.
