What model of Ibanez is this guy selling?

I'm not too good at identifying the various models... but I do see that it was made in Japan. Any idea what model it is?

Re: What model of Ibanez is this guy selling?

Based on the colour of the guitar and 1999 serial number I'd say it's a RG 470 in New Penny. Bridge looks to have been replaced with a Floyd Rose of some sort. Hard to tell from the pictures but the stock LO-TRS is not in there, it's definitely a standard profile bridge.

The giveaway that it's likely to be a 470 is that there's no cavity for the jack, so it probably has the football backplate.

Thanks man... I didn't know that about rg470 jacks. It does have a 3rd backplate that I don't have on either of mine. Looks like this guitar has been heavily modified with the kill switch, Fernandes sustainer p/u, EMG's, and extra switches, etc... plus the finish has been chipped up pretty good.

Edit - the 3rd backplate must be for the sustainer switches and battery... After looking at them on line I see what you mean about the "football plate" around the jack.

Not a bad lot, shame the guitar is beat to ****. Digitech Whammy = ~$80 Jemini Distortion =~$150-200 CS-3 ~$60-70 Bad Horsie =~$50 DD-3 ~$90 RC-20XL ~$150 (approximate Bay sales prices) The Sustainer alone is $250 new.

Yeah... If I had extra money laying around I would buy the lot just for the beater guitar, as long as it played good. Always been intrigued by the Fernandes and Sustainiac sustainers... but it would just sustain my bad playing. Maybe I could remake Satriani's "Flying in a Blue Dream" and call it "Wallowing in a Blue Nightmare"... lol
