What pickups to fatten the tone of my Ibanez rg 470 as Les Paul?

Any idea what pickups to fatten the tone of my Ibanez rg 470 basswood body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard as Gibson Les paul and more output? The current installed pickups are suhr ssv on neck and suhr ssh+ on bridge and im not contented with the fatness of tone. My gibson les paul studio '94 sounds more fatter but it uses only stock gibson usa pickups. What model of dimarzio, emg, seymour duncan, bareknuckle and etc to fatten the tone even on basswood body and which brand and model is the best? I tried dimarzio evolution but it sounds so bright and thin. I need your helpful advices. Thanks

For DiMarzio, Tone Zone, Super Distortion
For Seymour Duncan, Duncan Custom

I'd say go the Custom, from experience that'll probably hit the mark for you

Actually no pickup will make you RG sound like your Les Paul, not even close. They are pretty much at the opposite sides of guitar spectrum.

I see. Will i get the fat tone les paul character by changing body wood to mahogany from basswood?

Or you can use EQ pedal or similar.

Billy Gibbons uses an eq in his rack to make all of his guitars sound similar.

Tone Zone in the bridge. It won't sound like a Les Paul but it'll definitely give you a beefier and meaner sound.

Suhr ssh+ on bridge is more aggressive than tone zone but it needs help of eq pedal with higher setting on lower frequencies for focused low to mimic the fat tone of my les paul on clean. Sorry for saying that. Thanks for the tip

Paf pro - neck
Gravitystorm - bridge
You won't regret it.

Re: What pickups to fatten the tone of my Ibanez rg 470 as Les Paul?

If you aren't already a Gibson Les Paul owner (anything from a Les Paul Junior/Special with stock alnico II 490 humbucker to a special hotter wound Shawbucker in a vintage Standard or Custom), the typical lead guitar based Ibanez RS/S/Jem player may find the Les Paul lacks single note definition in the neck. All the Les Pauls I have had, yet still loved, are kind of muddy in the neck position if we are talking about the various Gibson branded humbuckers.

If you resort to only clean tones in neck and mixed tones in middle and bridge, then you can probably live with the classic Gibson tones, but if you get the Gibson neck humbucker sound, be able to have pedals that can sharpen things up and reduce the inevitable "mud".

imo a PAF Pro is probably the worst choice for a neck humbucker if you want it to sound like a les Paul. Don't get me wrong it's a great pickup, but it's bright and tight, two things a les Paul neck sound is not

Re: What pickups to fatten the tone of my Ibanez rg 470 as Les Paul?

I've never played the 6-string Suhrs, but the 7-string ones I've played are actually already pretty fat - the 7+ is alledgedly quite close to the SSH+, and I thought it was a pretty thick, beefy, midrangey pickup. A Tone Zone might get you a little closer, maybe, but it'd be a marginal improvement.

My advice? It's a RG. Embrace that. You seem to already own a Les Paul, so grab that guitar when you want something that sounds like a Les Paul, and grab your 470 when you want something that sounds like a superstrat.
