What RG to buy

I'm really starting to love my old (Wizard necked) RG550, so much so that I'm thinking of adding another pointy head to my collection. I'm not too familiar with Ibanez models, so I'd appreciate it if you'd recommend some models.

Here is my general wish list:

1) Decent Floyd type trem.
2) A neck that is a little fatter & with a little more radius to the fretboard
3) Well made (so I guess MIJ)
4) HH or HSH
5) Body material, maybe Alder... I don't really know so recommend away
6) readilly available used (i.e. cheap)
7) Fretboard, well I've ALWAYS been a rosewood type. But now I'm not so sure, I'm really liking the RG's maple. So I guess this is open to suggestions.

I like the reverse headstock, and Shark inlays but I guess I'll have to see what comes up.

What would you buy?

Re: What RG to buy

The newer wizards (post '03) are a little fatter than the originals and prestigue rgs are becoming more and more common on **** now. You might not find exactly the look you want but you wont be dissapointed with any prestigue rg.

Re: What RG to buy

im thinking a jem, mostly for the alder comment, other than that basswood is closer than mohogany, if your gonna go for a decent floyd type just go all out edge pro, it beats the edge 3. i love the zr though, im still hooked since i've got it. reverse headstock < 3. i would think your a jem user for your likes

6) readilly available used (i.e. cheap)

That doesnt decribe a JEM very well, you could pick up a DY or something cheap but they arent very nice to play and the edges from that era have issues.

Yes, in the mid 1990s (about 1994 I think) Ibanez did a run of guitars called the RG570CT.

they looked like a normal RG570, but had a gravure printed maple effect top and gold hardware. They also had Pau Ferro fingerboards.

They came in blue, amber and honey-burst. There are a few that caan be found on the used market.

Those are a little more expensive than your average used 570 tho because of the rare factor, still they seem like the're worth every penny.

They are going up in price by the day though, and have been for the last 6 months. He would be better off looking for an RG570, or my personal favourite an RG560. They aren't as "sought after" and are the same in terms of quality and performance.
