What RG's this?

Hello everyone.
I'm new here
I'm going to buy my first Ibanez! In my life I tryed an Ibanez RG 570, made in 1997. Super Wizard neck (Awesome!), V7,S1 and DP100 on the neck.
But, that isn't the guitar that i'm going to buy.
I'm going to buy an RG… XXX!
Yes, because I don't know what kind of RG it is!
The guitar is made in 1997 (The serial starts with F97), has the classical V7,S1, but it has the DP100 on the bridge. Lo-Pro Edge Tremolo, and Super Wizard Neck (I think).
First, I thought it was an RG570, because it hasn't the pickguard, and for the tremolo. But, the guy who's selling it to me, said it's an RG370, but it isn't sure too…
After a little search, I found that "my" Ibanez (maybe) it's an RG570EX.
Oh, the guitar has a black finish.

Re: What RG's this?

DP100 is a SuperDistortion right? That's likely a custom replacement. Lo-pro didn't come on 570 but could also be a replacement (because the original edge was not previous owner's preference). Make sure it is a LoPro Edge and not a LoTRS.

Pics would really do well here.

570EX will have those transparent sharkfins and I'm not sure if they were available in 97.

As long as the price is right and the guitar is in good condition, shouldn't be an issue

Re: What RG's this?

Might also be an RG507, that had the original Edge bridge but did come with the V7, S1 and V8 pups.

That's right. DP100 is the DiMarzio SuperDistortion.
I'm sorry for the pics, but I can't post it!
The problem is the owners doesn't know the specifics. This guitar was gifted by a friend to the current owner but that friend didn't know the specifics!
(P.s.: Sorry for my bad english, I'm Italian!)

@IbanezDaemon: I'm looking at some pics of Ibanez RG507, but it hasn't the sharkfins inlay.

Re: What RG's this?

There are pics of RG507's in the link below, they do not have sharktooth inlays:

http://www.ibanez.co.jp/anniversary/..._id=223&now=13

Do you know if the serial number has 6 or 7 digits in it. A serial number that begins F97 may not necessarily be from a 1997 guitar. If it begins F97 and has 4 other digits (F97XXXX) it is a 1989 model, if it begins F97 with 5 digits following (F97XXXXX) it is a 1997 model. Are you sure the bridge is a Lo Pro Edge and not an original Edge???

Re: What RG's this?

If it hasn't the sharktooth inlays, it isn't my guitar.
The serial is F97 56706
But I've already check it out on Guitar Dater Project
The guy who's selling to me, says it has the Lo-Pro EDGE.
Some idea about my guitar? Which kind of RG it is?
Oh, originally, there was the classical configuration V7/S1/V8. The V8 was replaced for the DP100. It's a classical RG, overall.

Ah!! Mucho importante!!

I'd say it's an RGR570. See link below. Now that's from a 1998 catalog but it's possible the neck on your guitar was made in '97 but used on a 1998 model.

Re: What RG's this?

Thanks!
Does it sound good, in your opinion?
Overall, it's an 1997 or a 1998?
So, the neck it's a Super Wizard?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Re: What RG's this?

No problem dude. It is a very nice guitar and will sound pretty good but even if you don't like the sound you can always change the pickups.

I'm unsure as to what neck that will have actually. Thing is your guitars neck is stamped as an 1997 model. Now the 1997 RGR570 had the original Wizard neck and the guitar only came in blue. In 1998 there were 2 colours available, Blue and Black, but those '98 models had the Super Wizard neck. As you have a black one that was only released in 1998 it should have the Super Wizard neck but your serial is a 97 neck meaning it could be an Original Wizard.

EDIT: Fire up a pic of the neck if you can.

We really need to see some pics of this beast....... It definitely sounds like a '98 RGR570 IPT, but it could also be an RGR270 BK..... I'd hate to commit to a verdict without seeing the trem.

That's weird--I've had 3 570s that came with the LoPro Edge. One of which was just sent to Ryc.
