Re: what is ur oponion about RG1527RB

I first tried one of these last year, right after a Fender demo at the same store . The neck is something to get used to if you've just been play six stringers all this while, this proved true for me. To answer the question, it's a good guitar, in my honest and most humble opinion. The pickups? They're okay and definitely aren't bad. They bridge was a bit too trebly and the neck had a lack of bass definition. And yes, this is an MIJ Prestige. Metal guitar? It's made of wood, if that's what you meant by it. . Seriously though, this guitar generally leans towards metal and hard rock, so you should be fine (that is, if you're looking for a metal-esque axe).

Re: what is ur oponion about RG1527RB

I bought one two months ago. It's my first 7 string, so I had to get used to the new neck. Believe me, this comes really quick (at least it was easy for me).
The pickups aren't bad, but aren't awesome either. They lack harmonic response on the 7th string and there's not enough output for my taste. I'll change them when I have the money for a Lundgren M7, or settle for my favourite Tone Zone/Air Norton combo.
As you've already read it's MIJ, and ships in a hard case.
You could say that it's oriented for a metal player, but the clean tone of a 7 string guitar is really great. Check albums like A Change of Seasons by Dream Theater and The Art of Navigating by the Stars by Sieges Even, to see the potential of a 7string played with no distortion.
Overall it's a great guitar IMHO!

Does it work well with Jazz? I didn't get the chance to try it out with that genre.

Check out John Pizzarelli. He uses a 7 string jazz box. You can also check Charlie Hunter.
Ibanez used to have a 7 string jazz box in its production line around 1998.

No, you misunderstood. I know the whole 7 string and Jazz connection. I just wanted to know whether the 1527 works well with Jazz. Sorry if my post wasn't that clear.

Well, to be really honest I don't know! LOL! I play metal!
I think it could be possible though, if you swap the pickups, to get a clearer tone (especially from the neck position).

Sorry for my misunderstanding

Re: what is ur oponion about RG1527RB

i bought a 1527 about 6 months ago when i joined up at my colleges jazz band after switching my major. i always played my 7620 in high school jazz band but sold it and kept all my sixes for jamming figuring i wouldnt need it. boy does the 1527 kick some butt, in my opinion it works very well for jazz, and i have got nothing but compliments on the sound. but i cant say i wouldnt mind some white dimarzios and knobs ect, just because i think the royal blue with white is serious class lol.
