piezo equipped JPMM - incredible build quality, playability, and sound. The luke/axis models are also
top notch guitars.

Re: What would u buy with about $2000

I agree with the amp suggestion. I think that cheap amps are responsible for bad tone much more often that bad guitars.

It makes sense doesn't it? Nice guitar on a crap amp will sound like crap because the thing that is actually projecting the sound is crap. People have to remeber that an electric guitar includes the amp too. The speaker box of an acoustic is attached to the guitar, on an electric, it's the amp. Would you take your acoustic and have a nice neck with great woods and inlays and so on and then a plywood sound box? No. So why do people buy nice guitars and play them on cheapy amps?

You don't have to spend a bundle on both, you can get a decent amp and a decent guitar and probably sound great. But if you negelect one of either, the guitar or the amp, you'll still not sound any good.

Just my opinion and experience.

-ahem- PRS ..... fat tone, not so fat neck if you pick up a wide-thin.

JUST AN OPTION! Some people hate them.

What everyone else has said ...... go in, sit down and see what you think. Spend enough time on enough brands and one's going to jump out at you and demand to be taken home.

Unless you're really unlucky and ALL of them do. Welcome to GASville.

I would get a JS1200 (or 1000) and then blow the rest on beer and hookers.

For $2k I would get an RGR1570 and have Sims or EKG repaint it for me. Unfortunately, I've been spending my money on gas, not GAS!
Seriously, you can't go wrong with a 1570, 2570, 2550, or even a used 570 or 550.

I'd probably get a 1570 and a JSX and new pickups.
